Island Grill is located at 1201 Louisiana St Suite 150, Houston, TX 77002, USA. This places it directly in the dense commercial and office building hub of downtown Houston. Its specific location within an office building means it primarily caters to the local workforce and those visiting the downtown area for business or events.
Accessing Island Grill can be a bit tricky due to ongoing construction in the surrounding area, which has been noted by some customers as making it "pretty hard to find." However, once inside the building, the restaurant itself is designed for convenience. For those using public transportation, Houston's METRORail system has stops relatively close to the Louisiana Street area, offering a convenient transit option. Various bus routes also service downtown Houston, providing further accessibility.
For individuals driving, parking in downtown Houston can be a consideration. Street parking might also be available in some areas, but it can be scarce. Despite the current construction challenges and parking costs, the central downtown location makes Island Grill a practical spot for those working in the vicinity, particularly if they are already in the building or within walking distance.

Island Grill Reviews
FOOD:A good plate of food, but not an authentic Mediterranean flavors I'm used to. I had a plate that was supposed to be a gyro and a greek salad. Instead I got a bowl of gyro meat with onions and mushrooms that had a really strong cinnamon or clove taste, a pretty small Greek salad which was good but too small, and one pita cut in 4 pieces. So technically it wasnt really a gyro.My meal was $20 plus $4 plus tax for a cup of tea. They didn't have Greek dressing, just oil and vinegar which was OK for me, just not expected. Severely overpriced for the portions. $25 for what I felt could have been on a lunch special menu for no more than $12.SERVICE:Customer service was pretty good coming in and leaving.ATMOSPHERE:Is parking prices part of the atmosphere?? Lol!! Yes, right?! Ok so $10 to park and eat so add that to your tab. Lol!! I ended up spending $35 for this meal. (As you can see I'm bothered about spending that here lol)They are doing construction right now so It's pretty hard to find. Inside of another office building.
Jul 10, 2024 · Crystal AlexisExcellent option for lunch if you work downtown Houston. I love the Mediterranean plate with a side of hummus and pita bread! Great portion sizes but the prices are on the higher side.
Jun 27, 2024 · Ashley WashingtonNice clean spot with ample seating and fairly fast service. Pricing is a bit high with chicken pita, fries and drink combo for $16. Lots of salad on it but not a ton of chicken and definitely need to ask for more taziki sauce as it was very dry.
Nov 08, 2023 · Brian Carpani, GeckoMediaGroupFound it while hopping around map and didn't realize it was a shop within a business building so i wasn't expecting it to be so good! They followed the order directly to a T as i hate onions and mushrooms. The chicken pita was served flat with the toppings but i just folded to eat like a taco. The chicken was so well seasoned and i love they have the option to add feta on the site as its something i love, but never think to ask for and the garlic sauce was perfect. Will return when I'm in downtown again!
Dec 27, 2024 · Ess G👍 This place is located in the heart of Downtown, and is a convenient stop for breakfast before walking into the office.👍 They have a good breakfast menu here. Actually, the breakfast tacos are probably the second-best in Downtown.🤜 However, the salsa is pitifully weak. It's like the restaurant caters to stereotypical office workers.🤜 Everything is to-go here, but there is communal seating on the same floor (east of the restaurant). I do not recommend sitting in the tunnels because the Subway down there stinks up the area, and that stinch will cling to your clothes.👍 You can order online and pick up your food, which is convenient if you're in a hurry.👎 However, a couple times the guy didn't call out a name when placing a bag of food on the counter. After seeing a lady come in, order, and get her food, I asked if my order was on its way. Turns out that was my bag of food, and what should have been a 5 minute trip was multiplied by 3. I wish it was standard to tip AFTER picking up an online order.
