### Introduction / Overview
For Texans seeking a taste of the Mediterranean right in the heart of Houston, Arabella offers an authentic Lebanese culinary experience that stands out in the bustling downtown scene. Tucked away within the unique network of Houston's underground tunnels, Arabella provides a convenient and flavorful escape from the urban hustle. This Lebanese restaurant is dedicated to bringing traditional recipes and the rich, aromatic spices of the Levant to its patrons, offering a diverse menu that caters to both seasoned enthusiasts of Middle Eastern cuisine and newcomers eager to explore new flavors. From savory shawarmas and wholesome chickpeas to a variety of other Lebanese staples, Arabella aims to deliver a genuine taste of Lebanon with every dish. While operating in a "cafeteria environment" due to its tunnel location, it focuses on providing quick, flavorful, and reasonably priced meals, making it a popular choice for downtown workers and visitors alike.
Arabella's commitment to authentic flavors is a key aspect of its appeal. The menu features classic Lebanese dishes that are prepared with care, aiming to capture the essence of traditional home cooking. While individual experiences with specific dishes can vary, the overall sentiment highlights the reasonable pricing and the kindness of the staff. It's noteworthy that the owner of Arabella also operates food trucks around Harris County, extending their reach and commitment to serving authentic Lebanese food beyond this downtown location. This wider presence speaks to their dedication to sharing their culinary heritage with the greater Houston community. Despite being a convenient and fast-paced establishment, Arabella strives to maintain a friendly and accommodating atmosphere, making it a reliable spot for a satisfying Lebanese meal.
### Location and Accessibility
Arabella is uniquely situated at 914 Main St m, Houston, TX 77002, USA. What makes its location particularly distinctive is that it is found within the "tunnels in downtown Houston." For those unfamiliar, Houston's downtown tunnels are an extensive network of underground pedestrian walkways connecting various office buildings, shops, and food establishments. This unique placement offers a climate-controlled and convenient way to navigate the downtown area, especially during hot Texas summers or inclement weather.
Being located in the tunnels means Arabella is incredibly accessible for the thousands of professionals who work in downtown Houston. It serves as an ideal spot for a quick lunch break without needing to venture above ground. The tunnels are also connected to several major buildings, making it easy to reach from various entry points in the downtown core. While public transportation in Houston (METRORail and buses) serves the downtown area extensively, directly accessing the tunnels often requires knowing the entry points from street-level buildings. However, once inside the tunnel system, navigation is straightforward, and Arabella's specific address (Suite 'm') indicates its precise spot within this bustling underground network. This strategic and protected location ensures consistent foot traffic and provides a convenient, quick-service dining option for locals and visitors navigating the heart of Houston.

Feb 22, 2025 · Auda GeeWhat a disappointing return to the Houston tunnels... Before the pandemic, I would go here 1-2 times a week, every week. The food was better than anything comparable, downtown. Very nice and accommodating staff and the food tasted consistent... I was thrilled to see they were reopening the tunnel location. I've been twice and most of everything tastes like I remember, but there's something a little off now. I first noticed it in the rice, but it was still good. I've been happy with the food I received and the price, since their return. However, the biggest differences and disappointments are with their staff and portions. After 2 visits and interacting with the smug woman at the counter, I'm not planning on returning. She's pretend-nice to customers as well as her coworkers. I walk by all the time, so if she's not around, I may give another employee an opportunity to treat a loyal customer like they're valued.Portions decreasing, I get (post pandemic) but take a look at this $12 plate, 3 pieces of cauliflower, enough rice to give the illusion the meat portion hasn't decreased, some meat and a side of employee attitude... Good luck Arabella
Jun 26, 2024 · Kevin CollinsDelicious food. Good customer service. Really good halal option in the downtown tunnel.
Oct 17, 2024 · Tanzeem ChowdhuryMy first time trying Arabella today and it was delicious. The gyro wrap was hot and full of meat and veggies. The hot sauce that came with it made it even better. Can't wait to go back.
Apr 23, 2025 · Dan PenistenI was disappointed with the service today. It was the 1st time ordering from Arabella. I asked the employee what is considered a side and what is not, and he did not explain that well at all. Also the employee who served my food was rude to my peer and he told him to get in the back of the line, even though he was ready to order.I also did not like the salad which had a handful of onions. I will not be coming back to this place.
