I went to 1929 restaurant on May 6, 2025, specifically to pick up Yakamein as a surprise lunch for my sissy. She's from New Orleans, where this is a special dish. Upon arrival, the gentleman who worked there told me they had sold out the Oxtail Yakamein, and the seafood Yakamein was not ready yet. I couldn't wait because I had an appt to get to. As I was about to leave, I met the owner/executive chef Monica Landry. She is the absolute best. I explained to her that I came there because purposely because I heard her restaurant made the best Yakamein. Also wanted to surprise my sis with her New Orleans hometown delicacy for lunch. After hearing what brought me in that day, Monica personally made the Yakamein for my sister and 1 for me as well. She personally blessed us on the house. It was the spirit The Holy Spirit that led her to do that. She and I were both crying and testifying about how good God is, on our purpose helping & blessing others. The food was SOOO OUTSTANDING!!! Monica Landry touched my heart in a special way because she made it so personal for me. Thank you, Monica! Sorry it took me so long to post my review. - Anisa Green
